BPAA President Jim Sturm
Keynote Speaker for 2009 Luncheon

Jim Sturm, currently serving on the USBC Boerd of Directors and as president of the Bowling Proprietors Association of America, has been named as the CBW Media and Publicity Luncheon keynote speaker for 2009. Our theme will be “communication” and Jim recently stated “The style in which we communicate is like a first impression we give to one’s acquaintance. So in many ways communicating in person, whether verbally or by print, tells much about our own character.”

Bowling has been a life-long ambition for Jim Sturm. From the age of fifteen, he knew that bowling was his career choice. Jim has worked with numerous bowling centers in West Virginia and Indiana and presently owns and operates Dunbar Bowling Center, a 12-lane center in Dunbar, WV along with his wife Missy. He has bowled professionally and received many accolades as an amateur scholastic bowler.

We could all use more “Communication”, in our personal as well as professional lives so join the fun. This year’s event promises to be a sell-out so mark your calendar for Saturday, June 13 at the Riverside Marriott.

CBW luncheon chairman, Joan Romeo recruited Jim to be our guest speaker at the Fall Classic Trade Show in Reno in October. Joan is currently in negotiations with the hotel so that we may offer you an excellent meal at a reasonable cost. Thanks, in great part to our incredible sponsors, the El Dorado Hotel, Reno; the BPAA and the National Bowling Stadium, we have been able to offset most of the expenses and pass that savings along to you. Check back to the CBW website for the most up-to-the-minute information and a first look at the reservation form as soon as it becomes available. The April issue of the InfoLink will also contain the form and more luncheon information, or email Joan Romeo.
