The Rock for Vets - Music Therapy Program
By Rosie Parker

The CUSBC has recently discovered and sponsored a new and innovative program at the VA Long Beach, through the BVL donations, which is having a dramatic effect on many of our returning Veterans. Be sure and attend the Saturday evening activities at your convention on June 11th at 6 pm. See you in the Pavilion for a fun evening and be sure to check out the info below, as well as the groups website at

The Rock Club - Rock for Vets Music Therapy Program.

The music therapy classes are for Veterans of all ages and gender. Whether they can already play an instrument or can sing or whether they have no ability but have a passion to learn and to meet new people, are encouraged. The music program is run by The Rock Club staff and volunteers to create a safe environment in which to learn: choir, music lessons and theory, drums, guitar, bass guitar, piano and keys brass and wind, band coaching, working together, team play and dance. No matter what the disability, music is the remedy.

We are proud to announce that they will be performing for us live at 6 p.m. on Saturday 11 June at our 2011 CUSBC Convention.

Furthermore, on Saturday 30 July a benefit concert is taking place in Long Beach in order to sustain this program for the next year. Both local and national support is being sought.

If you would like to help, please buy a ticket for yourself or donate a ticket for a Veteran to attend the concert. Tickets are only $25 per person for a 3 hour show, staring Bobby Kimball, the original lead singer from TOTO. Purchase or donate today For more details please call Frank at The Rock Club on 866 597 1116.

Please make a difference today for one of our Veterans tomorrow.
